The Children of Elias Tipps & Mary Magdeline Nigh/Nye: First child-Aaron Tipps (North Carolina & Indiana) ( late 1700s early 1800s )

In 1995 James Morris Tipps published the book:  "The Tipps Family History: including allied families".  (Downloads a pdf of the book.) This book has been extremely helpful in filling in the branches of my family.  Now with DNA results, the experts all say: 'work your tree', 'fill DOWN your tree', so that is what I am trying to do.  As I have added information from this book to my tree, I have found updates to the information Mr. Tipps published as well as additional information.

This blog will attempt to bring those updates and additions to light.

Continuing with "Chapter 3: Family A -- Elias Tipps Family" we'll look at the children of Elias Tipps and Mary Magdeline Nigh/Nye.

Mr. Tipps found four children for Elias & Mary with Thomas being questionable: Aaron, Conrad, Thomas, Mary Polly, and Christiana.

We'll look at Aaron's family first.  There is very little to go on.  I have searched on familysearch.org, ancestry.com, findagrave.com, fold3.com and www.glorecords.blm.gov/.  The public family trees I have found have no attached documentation and have not found anything to add to the information Mr. Tipps has in his book.  I have been unable to find any information on Aaron's children, Daniel & Aaron Jr.

At this point we have a brick wall ending with Aaron's children.

"Aaron was born in 1787 in Lincoln Co..North Carolina and moved to Indiana prior to 1808 because he is listed in the 1808 Territorial Records for Clark Co., Indiana. Aaron married Hannah Kelly on January 2, 1812, at Clark Co., Indiana. In the 1850 Jefferson Co., Kentucky census, a widow, Sarah Tipps was living on the Ohio River in Jefferson Co. With her were her sons, Daniel and Aaron Jr., and Aaron III. This appears to be a part of the Aaron Tipps Family. Children:"
